CMI Hino Lonsdale an added benefit for Fleurieu Milk Company.

In 2017, Wayne Deacon joined Fleurieu Milk as their Distribution Manager, following the company’s decision to buy out the distribution company that provided bulk transport services to collect milk from the farms.

This change not only gave the company control over the logistics of sourcing the basic product and delivering sustainable incomes for the distribution transport team, it also gave Fleurieu Milk the chance to provide a higher level of customer service and flexibility to customers.

It was at this time that Fleurieu Milk Company established a strong relationship with CMI Hino Adelaide as they believed in the importance of having both the processing and transport operation ‘in-house’, knowing customers would benefit from fresher milk and the farms stood a greater chance of remaining viable.

This theory proved true, and the company continues to grow with demand for their premium products increasing.

Fleurieu Milk Company process approximately 1.3 million litres of raw milk each month to produce a range of products including milk, flavoured milk, cream and yoghurt – all delivered to customers in Fleurieu Milk Company’s own trucks.

The Fleurieu Milk Company fleet currently includes 22 Hino Trucks and more are on the way.

The fleet includes 300 Series and 500 Series models and range from a FM 3622 tanker, which collects milk each morning from the various local dairies, to 14-pallet FE1426 models and eight-pallet 916 models.

Other than the tanker, all Hino trucks are equipped with refrigerated bodies from Adelaide-based Advanced Transport Refrigeration or from Thermo King distributor TRS.

Not only do we work closely with Fleurieu Milk Company to supply Hino trucks for their fleet, we also offer them the added convenience of servicing their vehicles locally through our Lonsdale Service Centre.

With many truck dealerships based north of Adelaide, being able to have their Hino Trucks serviced by our factory trained technicians close to their operations in Myponga, was one of the many reasons Fleurieu Milk Company choose to partner with the CMI Hino Adelaide team.

“One of the reasons we went with Hino originally was because they were building the service centre at Lonsdale, which is probably only 40 minutes from here.”

“Having them based at Lonsdale has been amazing and the service and everything else they have provided over the six or seven years we have been with them has been exceptional,” said Wayne.

Not does is the location of our Lonsdale Service Centre ensure their trucks have as little downtime as possible, the addition of our Tyre Shop ensures that if the Fleurieu Milk Company need their tyres checked or replaced, it can be done so quickly and easily.
